Capturing and re-documenting an existing implementation is the first and most critical step in any system re-engineering exercise.

This requires a complete description of the existing system interactions to be unambiguously described.  Such a description must be able to isolate any irregularly occurring execution traces as it is these sequences that will cause the most difficulty on the migration to the TO-BE state.

The HELIXsystem Process Assembler (HSPA) aggregates the observed service interactions into unique execution paths, and ranks these by frequency of occurrence.  This enables irregularly occurring execution traces to to isolated and diagnosed.  Tooling is provided to enable the root-cause of these paths to be understood and corrected.
